Point of Reflection - Editor's view

Gun control or lack there of!!!!!

A current topic is the coverage of those buying guns because they are afraid that Obama administration will stop the sale of guns.  There has been no request to limit person hunting weapons by this administration so to argue that you need to buy as many as you can is pretty sad.  A democracy can only survive if the masses are well informed with valuable, accurate information and this is not an informed position by those purchasing small arms weapons in large amounts.  The administration asks that assault weapon be banned or at least regulated but the gun makers miss represent the fact to get more money.  The most plausible explanation for the sudden shortage of bullets would be that our increase in troops around the world requires that gun makers provide for the military first.  But, if they misrepresent the facts they can get people to pay outrages prices for stuff they don't need.  The news coverage I watched compared the demand for bullets today with the rush for water store owner’s experience on when bad weather is in the forecast.  Now, isn't that interesting analogy; bullets for a select group of individuals being compared to a human necessity (water) being collected in a time of crisis. The world we live in – what can I say!!!!
I’m sure there are those who would not agree with this view – feel free to comment in one of the two opinion boxes provided to the left.

Until next time,
Jerry
