Updated Synod Directory
By drossjones - Wednesday, November 26, 2008 :: 115 Views :: Synod News
The new synod directory has been updated and is now available for download.  If you are a rostered leader please download the file and check your contact entry to make sure that all information is present and accurate. Home addresses have been removed for those who have a work address and phone number available.  Please make sure that we have your current e-mail address.  Even if you don't want it published, it is important for the synod to have updated e-mail addresses.  Only the Olin Mills pictoral directory will be printed, but the online directory will be updated frequently.  Please direct any directory changes, questions or concerns to , (414)671-1212.

Immigrants in Our Midst
By Administrator Account - Monday, November 03, 2008 :: 188 Views :: Synod News
Please join us for "Ready to Come... Ready to Go... What Are We Ready to Do?", the theme of this year's annual commemoration of the Latin American Martyrs, sponsored by the Central American Awareness Committee and co-sponsored by the Synod Peace and Justice Committee. It will take place at Our Savior Lutheran Church Fellowship Hall (located at 31st St. & Wisconsin Ave.) on Sunday, December 7 from 2:00-4:30 p.m.  We will listen to stories of immigrants from around the world, our Bishop Paul Stumme-Diers speak about his passion for working with immigrants, and Sister Barbara Pfarr, SSND, who will present the facts and realities facing immigrants in these times.  This environment of prayerful reflection will help lead us to answer the question "What Are We Ready to Do?"

"Book of Faith" Congregations
By Administrator Account - Monday, November 03, 2008 :: 185 Views :: Synod News
If you have not already done so, it is important to sign up as a "Book of Faith" congregation.  In most cases you will want to have your council approve this action.  This will be an excellent opportunity to review with them the scope and importance of the program and an opportunity for them to become personally involved in the study program.  You can sign up at the website www.bookoffaith.org and click on "becoming part of the initiative." You can also sign up for Book of Faith eUpdates, and other helpful resources.  There is a section on "Join the Conversation" that will prove helpful for your questions.

"Book of Faith" is an initiative of the ELCA to increase biblical literacy and fluency for the sake of the world.
